TIMcienda: More Workshop Updates!

Posted on Mar 30, 2021

This week we fixed a wall, bought a welder, added some bling, got exhausted then started to spiral out of control! Find out what happened by watching the video or reading the words.

We finally figured out how to tidy up the wall in the showroom and deal with all the partition walls we had left over by the previous tenant. Yep, we leaned them against the crappy wall and hid the mess. It actually turned out quite nice, Some have even used the word "cozy"! Sure it changes color half way down but that just makes even more "creative".

We really wanted to put our mark on this new space so we did, literally! with this huge decals mounted directly to the walls. They really are much bigger than they look in the pictures. Don't believe us? Come see for yourself.

We hired this guy TIM Bear to helps around the shop but all he wants to do is drive the cars. He'll have to go!

We bought more furniture. Not because we need the storage but because we wanted to hide the garbage can in the kitchen. We found this steel locker style thing at Walmart for a good price available in red, yellow or blue. We went with red but when it turned up it looked very orangey red. No worries; we had some Safety Red Rustoluem in our paint cupboard so we had it looking safely red in no time.

While we were on a furniture buying spree we also snagged this as new but used Craftsman cabinet. Not sure if it will fit or what we'll put in it (maybe the bear) but it sure looks good and doesn't need repainting.

But where's the Quattro? Did it get fired up and go for a drive. Nah, it's away getting an exhaust built and installed. Hopefully it comes back soon before something else fills the space. Projects abhor a vacuum after all.

We have quite a bit of metal to glue together on the Quattro Rally Build so we thought we should by a welder. We're told this one is da bomb!

Finally we did some decorating. We wrapped the bottom half of the support column in yellow safety tape. It took us three attempts to get this right as it consists three individual stripes and it had to finish level with the the display shelf next to it. Many cosines gave their lives so this three start thread could live. If we can summon up the strength (and more cosines) we my continue up the column with gray then red stripes. Can't imagine why we'd wanna do that.

Next week we'll have the Quattro back and might even be gluing metal to it. You don't wanna miss that!
